This is a tutorial of how to install the MCR-Evolution drivers for Windows 8

  1. 1. Click here to download the drivers
  2. 2. Unzip the archive
  3. 3. Open device manager in Windows 8.
  4. NOTE: Here is the tutorial of how to open device manager:

    1. Method 1: Right click on where the START buton used to be in windows 7, choose "device manager"

    2. Method 2:
    3. From the Start screen, swipe up and tap the All apps icon.
      If you have a mouse, right-click on the Start screen and then click All apps.
    4. Once on the Apps screen, scroll or swipe to the right until you see the Windows System heading.
    5. Tap or click on Control Panel, located under Windows System.

      Windows 8 will bring up the Desktop and automatically open the Control Panel.
    6. Tap or click on the Hardware and Sound link.

      Note: You won't see Hardware and Sound if your Control Panel view is set to Large icons or Small icons. In your case, just tap or click on Device Manager and then move on to Step 6.
    7. In the Hardware and Sound window, click or tap Device Manager, located under the Devices and Printers heading.
    8. You can now use Device Manger to update drivers, roll back a driver, or manage some other aspect of the hardware on your Windows 8 computer.


    1. If you happen to be using a keyboard with Windows 8, the quickest way to open Device Manager is via its shortcut on the Power User Menu, accessible by pressing the WIN and X keys together.
  5. 4. Go to System devices. Right click on "XPLAINED Virtual COM port" and choose update drivers
